The Wesleyville Collection

The Wesleyville Collection

Step into the imagined world of Wesleyville, a place where stories linger in quiet corners, memories echo through old houses, and every object has a tale to tell.

The Wesleyville Collection is a series of original oil paintings created by artist Elizabeth Gleason. Each piece is painted in an Alla Prima style, meaning the artwork is completed in a single sitting using a wet-on-wet technique. This approach captures the freshness of the moment, allowing brushstrokes, color, and atmosphere to remain vibrant and expressive. After drying, each painting is carefully glazed to enrich the colors and provide lasting protection.

Every painting in the collection is accompanied by a short story, offering a glimpse into the people, places, and mysteries that inhabit Wesleyville. These stories invite collectors to explore an imaginary world where fact and folklore intertwine, and where even the simplest objects may hold unexpected significance.

The stories within the Wesleyville Collection are written by Elizabeth Gleason, and are intended to complement the artwork while encouraging viewers to create their own connections and interpretations.

On Memorial Day, Toad Hollow burned bright with red poppies. Frogs paused, rabbits listened, and swallows stitched the sky.
