The harvest moon arrives this week bringing crisp autumn leaves, mulled cider, cinnamon and cozy nights in front of fires. Apples are in abundance and I want to roll out pie crusts and drizzle honey over apples and cheddar cheese. Today, I’ll be happy with decorating the porch with mums and pumpkins from our pumpkin patch. The earthy smell of mums makes me want to spend the last few moments in the garden putting all our beds to rest for the winter which is right around the corner.
Enjoy the rest of the day and embrace the changing colors. I’m headed out to the garden to harvest the last bits of herbs and potting some basil to keep in the greenhouse for a bit longer.
