“I plant them in big clumps with a trusty shovel. I make several large holes all around and put quite a few in. That’s why it makes such a spectacular look when they bloom.”Tasha Tudor, The Private World of Tasha Tudor
Daffodils popping up everywhere.
I recommend to grab any bag of daffodils you find for sale in the early fall. A spring surprise waiting for you year after year. I too like to plant them in big clumps. It seems I always wait to the last minute and it feels like it’s minutes before the snow begins to fly I’m digging holes for tulips and daffodils. I’m usually in such a rush I forget where I plant them. Which is ok for me. It makes it all that much more a surprise when the snow melts and I start to see the first bulbs pumping up from the ground reaching for the sun.
