Bruce and I closed on the farm on New Years Eve. It took six months! I think we first did a walk through at the end of July. A long arduous process that made my patient husband a wee bit crazed. We worked a half day and came back to our for real new home. Our one goal for New Years was to start tearing out the 47 year old carpet. One of the conditions of our early entry was to leave these precious remnants in intact?
All the seams in the entryway were worn away. Sooo very attractive for our Christmas Eve party. Obviously, nutmeg shared her dislike for the rug while we were working as seen above. I can’t blame her, fun green rips in a carpet seem like a toy.
Our friend Melissa said the house gods are on our side because the wood floors are basically perfect underneath, just years of dust and grime. What do you think Oak??
I don’t understand people with wall to wall carpet they must not have any allergies what so ever. It took me till today to realize hmmm maybe I feel like crap because I haven’t taken my allergy medication. . .
Seriously, I don’t think they have grates in the Empire State building as big as this!
We cleared the hallway of carpet and it started to feel like our place. Then we rested for the rest of the holiday with a unique dinner… crab legs, crab cakes and mashed potatoes?? Ok I agree it’s not the best menu but we needed it!
Nutmeg says it all… We did not make it to midnight this new year’s. The whole family was exhausted but it was the best way to end 2014 and start 2015!
