Mr Coffin in his own words…

“The ravages of time, unrelenting seas and weather takes a toll on the New England lobster boat. The lobsterman upon periodic examination of his crate, will test for rib and planking damage, dry rot and other deterioration. Normally repairs are executed immediately, though sometimes circumstances dictate neglect and these magnificent boats are left in a derelict condition as illustrated. These “Workhorses” of the lobsterman can be seen throughout the New England coat line.”

All proceeds from the Merrill Coffin Prints are used for upkeeps of the website  in honor of my grandfather and archival of his artwork.
