Description
Clyde Watkins stood in his kitchen looking over all the ingredients for his first-of-the-season pumpkin pie. The pumpkins, on the farm, had ripened a little bit earlier this year so he selected his best and worked the soft flesh into a perfect puree. Working from his Grandmother Watkin’s recipe he whisked the sugar and spices together with the silky puree until he was satisfied. He then grabbed the black peppercorns and placed them in the mill grinding them into a fine earthy spice to add to the mixture. It was the peppercorns that made the pie and brought back all the memories of times gone by with friends and family.
