We’ve been so busy in the studio. . . I haven’t posted in forever. Plus, I sprained my calf and ankle in August which meant not a lot of flea market finds for myself. The leaves are turning the weather getting a bit chillier… I always come inside and think about antiques this time of year.
Sunday, September 30, 2012, we have the Busti Apple Festival. You will see pioneer 19th century life-skills demonstrations, 1828 grist mill tours, history museum, apple cider, farmer’s market and food concessions. I’ll be the girl carrying the cider, apples, bread and yummy fruit. My husband has already informed me that he will be waiting in line for the bloomin’ onion no matter how long the line is. {Alrighty then} Here’s our post from last year’s 2011 Busti Apple Festival.
Not much apples in my family’s orchard this year due to the late frosts that hit Western New York. So we escape the harvesting this year.
Toward heaven still,
And there’s a barrel that I didn’t fill
Beside it, and there may be two or three
Apples I didn’t pick upon some bough.
But I am done with apple-picking now.
