Brown Sugar and Cinnamon Season

Fall is hands down my favorite season—there’s just something about the crisp air, colorful leaves, and cozy vibes. With only a few days left until the official start, I’ve been excitedly putting together a checklist of all the things I want to do.

However, Sawyer the Destroyer, in his infinite puppy wisdom, had other plans. Now, growing is to be expected with a dog, but for some reason, I hadn’t factored that in when I tried to grab him as he wiggled and squirmed on the stairs. A small twinge that started as a warning has now turned into nine days of pain. I’ve been living in a world of Thermacare and yoga pants, and I’m pretty sure I’m on the verge of becoming a recluse since I can’t leave the house. My outings now consist of watching the dogs come back from their walks and snapping a few pictures.

I started feeling a bit better yesterday and thought a visit to my parents might be a good idea. Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. I paid for it all night.

As I look at Sawyer’s growing face, I can’t believe how quickly he’s growing up, despite the chaos he brings. So, for now, I’m flipping through magazines, scrolling through Pinterest and Etsy, and dreaming of a pain-free back. Come on, back—you’ve got this!
