Wine and Shroom Bread

Ingredients

  • 16 oz Bella Mushrooms (Sliced)
  • 8 tbsp Butter
  • 1/4 cup chopped onions
  • 4 cloves garlic (Minced)
  • 3/4 cup Dry White Wine
  • 2 tsp Dried Thyme
  • 12 oz Swiss Cheese (Shredded)
  • Borsari Original
  • 3 Green Onions (Finely Diced)
  • 1 loaf Garlic Bread

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F.

Brown butter in a skillet and cook the mushrooms, onions and garlic until tender. Add the wine and let it simmer.

Cube the bread without slicing all the way through the bottom.

Tuck the Swiss cheese into the gaps. Spoon the mushroom mixture into the bread slices. Bake for 20 minutes or until the cheese is melted.

Finish by sprinkling with green onions and serve.

I’ve been meaning to share this recipe for ages! I made it for our Labor Day picnic, and it was a hit—well, one version was. I experimented with two types of bread: an Italian loaf and a garlic loaf. Trust me, the garlic loaf is the way to go. The Italian loaf turned out bland, but the garlic really elevated the flavors and made it irresistible.

This warm, cheesy appetizer was perfect for our chilly Labor Day. The combination of sautéed mushrooms, wine, and gooey Swiss cheese nestled into crusty bread made for a cozy and satisfying treat. It’s the kind of dish that’s easy to tear apart and share, making it ideal for gatherings. Plus, it’s simple to throw together!

If you’re looking for a crowd-pleasing appetizer, especially as the weather cools down, this Wine & Cheese Mushroom Tear-Apart Bread is a must-try. Next time you’re hosting or attending a gathering, give this a go—just be sure to pick up a garlic loaf!
