Pink Cocktails was the first postcard I sent out on January 1st, wishing everyone a Happy New Year. In this one, I played with pink combos, which I don’t usually do. Also, it was my first try at painting glass. Another goal was to work with wood, too.
A vibrant oil painting on a postcard-sized canvas features two inviting pink cocktails brimming with summer energy. Each drink sits in a glistening glass, its rosy hue illuminated by soft, golden highlights. The drinks are adorned with generous heaps of ice that catch the light, adding a sense of cool refreshment. Slices of bright lemon perch on the rims, their sunny yellow contrasting beautifully with the pink. A handful of plump, ripe berries—some red, others deep blue—float atop the cocktails with a spring of an herb, their natural hues enhancing the composition.
