There’s something quietly powerful about this in-between season — when winter finally loosens its grip and the first true signs of spring begin to appear. Soft green shoots push through cold soil, daffodils nod in the breeze, and birds return to the garden with hopeful songs.
The Story of Ostara was created in that spirit.
This Victorian-inspired Easter card began as an original hand-painted gouache illustration, later reproduced to preserve its delicate details and folkloric charm. The design features spring’s early blooms — daffodils, narcissus, crocus, bluebells, snowdrops, lily of the valley, and grape hyacinths — gathered around playful bunnies, visiting birds, and vibrantly colored eggs.

Inside the card is a heartfelt retelling of the Ostara legend:
“The goddess of spring discovered a frozen, flightless bird and transformed it into a rabbit to save it from the ice. For one day during the mystical Ostara Festival, the enchanted rabbit lays radiant, colorful eggs symbolizing spring’s renewal. Welcome joyous spring and embrace the eternal promise of rebirth.”
It’s a story that speaks to transformation, compassion, and the cyclical promise of nature — themes that feel especially meaningful as we welcome longer days and warmer light.
